OUR FIRST LADY
Dr. Angela Farr-Griffin
is a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina where she graduated valedictorian from Northern Nash High School. She was a Johnston Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She attended New York University and earned a MA degree in Physical Therapy. In 2011, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Promotion and Wellness from the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah.
Dr. Griffin is licensed to practice Physical Therapy in both North Carolina and New York State and has worked in a variety of public and private settings during her career. She is currently employed at SUNY Downstate University since July, 2006 as Clinical Education Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy. She worked extensively in central Brooklyn developing Health Prevention and Wellness programs for the community when she served as the founding Executive Director of the Berean Community & Family Life Center.
Dr. Griffin maintains an active presence in the community continuing her research and volunteer work and often conducts workshops and programs to combat obesity and unhealthy lifestyle choices. Dr. Griffin is also an independent distributor of Jinsa Essentials; Wonderful Oils of the World, Natural products for the hair and body.
Dr. Griffin has worked diligently alongside her husband since they were called to the Berean ministry in 1989. She founded the Sonshine Choir, Youth Church and Sisterhood Ministry and the Sacred Dance ministry. Committed to the health and wellness of individuals, Mrs. Griffin was the founding director of the Berean Community and Family Life Center’s Medical Clinic, Nutrition and Fitness programs and Grant-writer and organizer of the Berean Community Drumline. Currently, she is the servant leader of the Healing Waters Ministry. She, along with her team, provide emotional and spiritual guidance as they lead participants on a journey to wholeness. She has done missions work in Senegal, The Gambia, South Africa and most recently Trinidad and Tobago.
Dr. Griffin enjoys dance, horseback riding, fishing and gardening and all forms of technology and computing. She has been married to Dr. Arlee Griffin, Jr. for 36 years. They have two daughters; Angel Arlecia (husband Nelson Louis) and Ariel Arlyce and 2 grandson, Arlee Nelson and Arnel Joseph Louis.
